Three persons have died in an accident on Abuja-Lokoja road after the vehicle they are traveling in rammed into a moving articulated vehicle.
The accident happened in the wee hours of Saturday, January14 morning injuring five passengers who are presently recuperating in the hospital.
According to Daily Trust, the driver of the bus was one of those who died as a result of the crash.
The injured were however taken to hospital by officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) at Yangoji.
A witness quoted in the report said the accident happened at about 5:23 am after a J5 Peugeot vehicle with registration number MKR 275LD loaded with kola nuts rammed into an unmarked articulated vehicle, killing the three persons on the spot.
When contacted, the Yangoji unit commander of the FRSC, Assistant Corps Commander (ACC) Joseph Samgbaza, confirmed the incident.
He said the three corpses were deposited at the Kwali General Hospital morgue, while two injured victims were also the taken to the hospital.
“But three other injured victims were taken to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital at Gwagwalada,” he added.
Meanwhile, an early morning accident involving an Abuja-bound luxury bus and a lorry claimed five lives on Friday, January 13.
The luxury bus belong to a renowned private transport company, ‘Young Shall Grow’.
