Muslims reject Christian court, in Nigeria.

Nigerian Muslims have rejected the Bill for Ecclesiastical (Christian) Courts in Nigeria.
The umbrella body of all Muslims in Nigeria, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) described the Bill as a recipe for anarchy and should be stopped in the interest of the nation.
The group has also threatened that it would demand that Wednesday should be declared a work-free day in Nigeria, if Christians continue to insist on ecclesiastical courts.
The Secretary-General of NSCIA and Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede said the demand for Christian courts amounted to the height of intolerance because Christians enjoyed Sunday as Sabbath Day while the cross was the sign of the hospital “and yet Muslims are not complaining.
He stated that if it was because Muslims have Shariah court, that Christian want Christian courts, then Muslims also have the right to say they don’t want Saturday and Sunday as work-free day.
“If Christians say whatever Muslims want, they will be antagonistic to it, then what it means is that Muslims can stand up and say they don’t want Saturday and Sunday, they want Wednesday as work-free day.”
He said the promoters of the Bill should be cautioned not to create a situation that will lead to anarchy.

This appeal is contained in a statement issued tagged “Cape Town Declaration” reaffirmed the critical role of traditional man-woman marriage as the bedrock of civilization.
According to the statement, ‘the family is the “first and primordial community” and that marriage is “the conjugal bond of man and woman.
“This definition is not a matter of preference or temperament or taste,” the signers declared, but “the heart of any just social order.”
“Throwing down the gauntlet to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trangender (LGBT) lobby, a thriving culture will firmly resist every push to redefine marriage to include: same-sex or group bonds, or sexually open or temporary ones.’’
The document also declared that the nature of marriage as between one man and one woman is “a truth that no government can change,”
It said that the declaration was a historic step in the global fight to preserve the truth about marriage.

Those that signed the declaration had pledged to work toward recovering the true understanding of marriage in places where governments had imposed an unwanted and unwarranted distortion of marriage upon society, it said.
“Beyond affixing their names to the document, signers also pledged to resist the rising cultural imperialism of western powers whose governments seek nothing less than the ideological colonization of the family.
“Bowing to no earthly power, using every just measure, we shall not falter or flag until the truth about marriage is embraced in our laws and honoured in our lands,’’ the document stated.
“While the Manhattan Declaration targeted three points: 1)the sanctity of life;

MMM founder, Mavrodi writes Buhari, lists benefits

Abuja - Ponzi scheme company (MMM) Founder, Sergey Mavrodi has allegedly written an open letter to the Federal Government of Nigeria explaining the benefits of the scheme.
According to the letter, Mr Mavrodi implored the government to look at the benefits of the scheme rather than be against it without knowing how it was helping Nigerians.
He insisted that if the government was really interested in the welfare of the Nigerian participant, then the scheme should be left alone arguing that MMM was helping the over 3 million Nigerian participants.
Read below the full script of the letter .
Open Letter from Sergey Mavrodi to the Nigerian Authorities
Honorable authorities,
So far MMM has come under a constant attack from you. In this regard, I would like to ask you a few simple questions.
Since you are concerned with the interests of millions of your fellow citizens, I hope that you would be so kind to answer them. What are you trying to get? Do you want the MMM System to collapse and millions of people to suffer?
Who will support them then if now MMM is their only means of livelihood? Will you?
You even don’t pay wages to people? Or might you not care about them? Might you be using a trendy topic to make a good name for yourselves? What will you say to a mother who will have no money to buy food for her child?
Will you let her child die for the sake of the higher interests of the economy? You say that MMM is a scam. What is the scam here, if all members are warned in advance about all the risks, the possible and impossible ones?
They know there are no investments at all. The warning is a red text on a yellow background placed on most prominent place of the website.
You say that MMM is bad. Why? Yes, it produces nothing, but nothing gets out of the country either.
The money is just redistributed among the citizens of Nigeria. It gets from those who are richer to poorer ones, in this way restoring social justice. What”s wrong with that? You have repeatedly stated that “it should be investigated!.. researched!..” It means you know nothing about this System yet; you even haven’t understood how it works.
And finally. If you know what is right for people, why is the life so bad in the country?
Sincerely yours,
Sergey Mavrodi

P.S. As for your statement that “everything will collapse soon”. The system has been working in Nigeria for a year, and according to your estimates, the total number of members now is about 3 million people. In Nigeria the population is approximately 195 million. Can you calculate? Will it be “soon”?

NCAA suspends five cabin crew members for using marijuana

Lagos - The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has suspended the medical certificates of five cabin crew members over alleged drug related offences.
The NCAA announced this in a statement by its General Manager, Public Relations, Mr Sam Adurogboye, and obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Lagos.
Adurogboye said the crew members (names withheld) tested positive to marijuana (Tetra Hydro Cannabinol – THC) during a Multi- Drug Screening Test (MDST).
He said the test was conducted on participants of the Cabin Crew Training Basic Course – 30 (CCTB – 30 ) at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria, Kaduna State on June 2.
“Upon receipt of the test result from NCAT Zaria where they went for training before they got involved, NCAA issued a letter of investigation (LOI) to the involved crew members and they responded.
“The authority accordingly considered their responses which were in writing after it had been duly established that they all tested positive to Tetra Hydro Cannabinol (THC – Marijuana).
“This is a substance deemed under the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. NCARs) 2015 to be a psychoactive substance which made the defaulters disoriented and thereby violated NCARs 2015,” Adurogboye said.
According to him, consequent upon the findings, the defaulted crew members no longer meet the requirements for the issuance of a Cabin Crew licence.
He said in the light of the above and in accordance with the provision of Nig. NCARs 2015, the authority resolved to suspend their medical certificates for a period of 180 days from the date of receipt of NCAA letter to them.
Adurogboye said it also put on hold the processing of their initial cabin crew licence and requested them to repeat the examination.
He added that they would not be issued the cabin crew licence even if they passed the examination until they were successfully rehabilitated and re-issued the medical certificate.
“NCAA has, therefore, mandated the suspended Cabin Crew members to undergo rehabilitation for psychoactive substance abuse under the strict supervision of a consultant psychiatrist at designated medical centres forthwith.
“At the end of the rehabilitation, a report is expected to be forwarded in strict confidence by the medical centre to the authority for consideration of re-issuance of their medical certificate in accordance with the Nig. NCARs 2015.
“The authority expects strict compliance by the suspended crew members without which their medical certificates would not be issued.
“This is assuring the travelling public that NCAA is very detailed in its oversight activities over the industry in the interest of safer skies in Nigeria and violations are viewed seriously,” Adurogboye said.

No agreement reached between Russia and US on exit of militants of Aleppo’s eastern neighborhoods

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia did not reach an agreement with the United States regarding the exit of militants from the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo.
In a statement on Sunday, Ryabkov said that the United States keeps insisting in its talks with Russia on unacceptable conditions regarding the ceasefire.

Trump chooses hardliners but talks softer on immigration

New York - Donald Trump embraced new Cabinet officers on Wednesday whose backgrounds suggest he's primed to put tough actions behind his campaign rhetoric on immigration and the environment, even as he seemed to soften his yearlong stance on immigrants brought to the US illegally as children.
It's clearer by the day, underscored by Trump's at-times contradictory words, that his actual policies as president won't be settled until after he takes his seat in the Oval Office.
Retired Marine General John Kelly has been selected to head the Department of Homeland Security, and Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, a climate-change denier whose policies have helped fossil fuel companies, is to be announced as head of the Environmental Protection Agency.
Separately, Trump named the former chief executive of World Wrestling Entertainment, Linda McMahon, to head the Small Business Administration - and may have breathed new life into the candidacy of a secretary of state contender.
Trump said he planned to name his choice for the key Cabinet post next week and insisted that former rival Mitt Romney still had a chance.
Searing rhetoric
READ: Trump is Time magazine's Person of the Year
Trump, who has met twice with the 2012 GOP presidential nominee, denied he was stringing Romney along to make him pay for earlier remarks that Trump was unfit to be president.
"No, it's not about revenge. It's about what's good for the country, and I'm able to put this stuff behind us - and I hit him very hard also," Trump said in a telephone interview on NBC.
Three sources close to the selection process said late on Wednesday that Romney's stock is on the rise again within Trump's circle after a period in which the celebrity businessman had cooled on the candidacy of the former Massachusetts governor.
But Trump has changed his mind repeatedly throughout the process and has expanded the pool of contenders beyond the previously identified final four of Romney, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Senate Foreign Relations Chair Bob Corker and former CIA Director David Petraeus.
Trump's long presidential campaign was in large part defined by searing rhetoric and his steadfast promises to build an impenetrable wall on the border with Mexico and crack down on immigrants living in the US illegally.
But he struck a softer tone in an interview published on Wednesday after he was named Time Magazine's "Person of the Year".
"We're going to work something out that's going to make people happy and proud," Trump said. "They got brought here at a very young age; they've worked here, they've gone to school here. Some were good students. Some have wonderful jobs. And they're in never-never land because they don't know what's going to happen."
He offered no details about a policy that would make that clear.
Scepticism
During the campaign, Trump's tough comments - including a vow to overturn US President Barack Obama's executive orders on immigration - have led to fears among immigrant advocates that he will end Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) programme.
Hundreds of thousands of young immigrants have gained work permits and temporary protection from deportation under the 2012 programme, which aides to Trump have said would be revisited.
Others continue to press the immigrants' case. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel presented Trump a letter Wednesday from 14 big city mayors urging him to keep the programme intact.
"They were working hard toward the American dream," Emmanuel told reporters in lobby of Trump's skyscraper. "It's no fault of their own their parents came here. They are something we should hold up and embrace."
Though some immigrant advocates hope Trump's words were an olive branch, others were sceptical.
"We've seen this movie before," Frank Sharry of the immigrant-rights group America's Voice said in a statement. "Unfortunately we expect no pivot and no softening."

Nigeria denies paying Swisss goverment to collect Abacha’s $321 million loot

Lagos - Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, has denied that the Federal Government has agreed to pay a $79 million commission to the Swiss government as part of conditions for repatriation of the Abacha looting.
The Minister of Finance clarified that the amount payable to Nigeria from Switzerland is $321 million, and is being returned to Nigeria for projects which are subject to verification by the World Bank.
The recovery process is ongoing with the Swiss authorities and the World Bank has agreed to undertake the required verification, the minister said.
She stated that there is no deduction of $79 million as suggested in a newspaper report and described it as both “misleading and inaccurate”.

Gambia: Ban dismayed at Jammeh’s ‘U-turn’

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has expressed issatisfaction at outgoing Gambian President Yahya Jammeh rescinding his earlier decision of Dec. 2, in which he conceded defeat to President-elect Adama Barrow.
Ban, in a press statement issued by his spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, called on Jammeh to respect the outcome of the Dec. 1 presidential election.
“The Secretary-General is dismayed by the Dec. 9 statement by President Yahya Jammeh of The Gambia rejecting the outcome of the Dec. 1 Presidential election.
“The Secretary-General calls on President Jammeh and all political actors and their supporters to fully respect the outcome of the election and to resolve all disputes that may arise from the electoral process through established legal procedures in an expeditious and transparent manner.”
The UN chief reiterated his earlier call for a peaceful, timely and orderly transfer of power, in full respect of the will of the Gambian people as expressed in the election. How avoiding orgasm can up your sexual pleasure

Want to take your solo and partner sex to the next level? Try edging.
Edging is a new name for an old concept: orgasm control. Practised by the Taoists since the Han Dynasty (more than 2 000 years ago), the idea was that while sex was an inevitable fact of life, dudes didn’t have to spill their ‘life force’ at the mere glimpse of a woman's ankle.
The solution? Develop techniques to prolong pleasure without orgasm, eventually achieving a state of such supreme control that the male could orgasm without ejaculation.
Of course, like many good ideas, these Taoist sex techniques survived history and there are some super-humans still practising them today.
We mere mortals, however, can dabble in orgasm control along simpler terms.
Today ‘edging’ draws on the idea of maintaining arousal without orgasm, but for both men and women. And while the practice now may be more prosaic than spiritual, its fundamental principle can have a profound effect on your sex life.
Learning to take your time
It’s a simple technique: just before you peak, you pull back from the edge, relax, and then work up to your climax again.
Think of edging as riding the wave of pleasure and choosing when to pull back and when to body surf to shore, instead of being whipped up by a wave and dumped before you’ve had a chance to enjoy your surf.
It’s part tease, part savouring the sexperience, without rushing to ‘end’ it with orgasm. In the pause moments between building your climax again, lie back, close your eyes and feel the sensations in your body.
Practicing solo
I’ve heard of edging as a form of self-care. I like this. Women, especially, are not used to taking the time they need to build desire to a high enough pitch for orgasm. Edging during masturbation helps you construct that experience for yourself.
For guys who struggle with ejaculating ‘too quickly’ during penetrative sex, solo play with edging will help them identify that ‘point of no return’ and practice working a pause into that.
Riding the wave together
Whether you’re vibing together or focusing your attentions on each other one at a time, edging during partner play is a great way to work those communication skills and learn how to be present.
Don’t freak out if your guy’s junk goes flaccid occasionally or you to need some lube. Those are the natural peaks and troughs of sex that takes longer than a few minutes.
Also read : What are this year's sex trends?
Pay attention to over-stimulation which can lead to kind of drop off in pleasure and for some people can feel painful. Keep talking about what feels good.
Have fun with it
Don’t take your practise too seriously, especially if you’re trying to prolong the time he takes to ejaculate. If the experience is riddled with anxiety, you’re doing it wrong.
And accessorise your experience! Use lube, include toys and play with different forms of erotica. Above all, listen to what your body needs to feel good, even if that means trying out positions that might feel weird for you.

President al-Assad meets participants in ALU meeting currently held in Damascus

Damascus,
President Bashar al-Assad received on Saturday participants in the permanent office of the Arab Lawyers Union (ALU) meeting currently held in Damascus under the title ”The Rights of States in Confronting Terrorism”.
The meeting dealt with the important role of popular unions and associations, especially under the current conditions in the Arab region, with President al-Assad stressing that these organizations should play a fundamental and vital role in raising public awareness about the goings-on, without them waiting for governments to do so.
The President said the ALU has a significant role, as it comprises educated and politically-enlightened elites who can have a role in returning the Arab street to the concept of national belonging to confront Western schemes which seek to undermine the Arab social fabric by extremism.
The President added that the battle fought by the Syrian people is a “national battle par excellence”, because, he explained, one of the war’s goals was to strike the robust social fabric of the Syrian society.
Syria’s enemies have failed to achieve this, added the President, because the Syrian people have largely succeeded in preserving their unity and social fabric, and managed to emerge more united and fortified on that score, which is one of Syria’s key strengths.
The delegation members, for their part, said the current stage in the region is one of “intellectual struggle”, adding that the Arab nationalist thought must be disseminated to counteract an obscurantist ideology which seeks to invade Arab societies.
This, they said, is needed for incapacitating the project which aims at fragmenting the Arab region along sectarian and ethnic schisms.
The delegation members also stressed the necessity of launching a legal battle before international courts, in parallel with the military and political one fought by Syria, by filing lawsuits against terrorism backers in Syria, stressing their support for the Syrian people who are being targeted for embracing Arab causes and commitment to their country’s sovereignty and independent decision.

Cuba Business Owners Urge Us President-Elect To Continue Bilateral Thaw

More than one hundred Cuban business owners have appealed to US President-elect Donald Trump not to reverse a recent thaw in bilateral relations.
In a letter, they said additional measures to boost travel, trade and investment would benefit both nations.
US President-Elect Donald Trump, who takes office on twenty January, has said he will end a deal under which ties were restored in 2015 unless Havana offers a better deal.
Cuba hopes to sign twelve agreements with the US before Mr. Trump’s inauguration.
Cuban and US government officials on Wednesday held talks in Havana to discuss how this could be achieved during President Barack Obama’s remaining weeks in office.
Cuban Foreign Ministry’s Director of US Affairs, Josefina Vidal, said a number of agreements had already been signed with Washington since 2015.
She also expressed hopes that the bilateral relations would continue improving but within the respect of the existing differences and without having to make any kind of concession to the principles in which Cuba firmly believes.
President Obama has worked to improve relations with the communist government in Havana, culminating in his historic visit in March 2016.

Speaking after the game, Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola said:
"Four minutes 2-0, it is not easy. England is very good on the counter-attack and second balls. They are tough on the counter defend so well. we tried until the end but there are good things in every game. it is difficult after 2-0 and 3-0.
"They would play long balls, we knew that. with the second balls, they were looking to our back four and did well.
"It is not about the system.
Do you need more defenders? "No. we defended well with these players at the start of the season and during the season, we have to stand up and analyse and players to step forward.
"All managers need time."
When asked why Manchester City started the game so badly, Pep Guardiola said: "Long balls, second balls, they won the second balls and scored fantastic goals.
"Football is a game with mistakes, especially today. I would never complain to my players and I will look inside myself and analyse the reason why we have problems with the second balls when they arrive.
"Our game is not bad but in the box we have a lot of problems."
When asked how long it is going to take his players to adapt to the "Pep way":
"I don't know. In the beginning it was quickly, now it will be a little bit longer," he said.
"To change the mentality, to change what we want, maybe it will take a little more time."

Holy Ghost Congress

You can resist the Devil if…, —Adeboye
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye Wednesday night at a special deliverance service of the ongoing Holy Ghost Congress, led participants in a holy war against all forms of evil forces and rulers of darkness and charged all those who are called by the name of Jesus Christ to stay away from every appearance of evil and embrace righteousness for them to experience wholesome restoration.
Drawing inspiration from the book of James 4:7, Pastor Adeboye, in a topic titled; “Resist the devil”, explained that most Christians still experience various demonic challenges because they have refused to totally submit their lives to God, saying that any child of God who has genuinely submitted him/herself to God and consistently does His will, will not be afraid of the activities of witches and wizards but will easily keep the devil at bay.
According to him, Christians ought to deal with all the activities of the evil ones in their life and that one of the reasons most Christians are afraid of witchcraft is because such people were not 100 per cent committed to God and that those who are still wallowing in all forms of evil practices have devil as their master.
In his words: “We have to deal with the devil because he is the original trouble maker, everything God created was okay before he came to distort God’s plan for mankind. God will not ask you to do what He knows you cannot do.
“Devil must be resisted and not worshiped; do not glorify devil, he is not to be tolerated but dealt with; not to be accommodated, served, nor loved. The only person you must love is God. Devil must not be advertised but Jesus Christ—witness more of Christ. Do not associate with the devil. You cannot be a Christian in the day and a member of a secret society in the night and you still want to command the devil. Devil knows those who truly belong to God.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Head of the Executive Council of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in the UK and Special Assistant to the General Overseer, Pastor Agu Irukwu speaking on “The Destiny Changer”, lament that Nigeria, a nation with so much potentials in its early days, is today running at the very rung of its developmental index.
According to him, Nigeria which has been prophesied time and time again to be destined to excel in the continent is today struggling, saying that that’s not the destiny of the nation. He prophesied that God of complete restoration would soon turn the table around and restore the destiny of the nation.

FATHER, MOTHER AND CHILD DROWN IN BADAGRY

LAGOS — THREE members of a family, consisting of the husband, wife and their child, were yesterday, feared drown after a boat mishap on Badagry waterways, Lagos State.
However, their identities were unknown at press time.
Vanguard gathered that the mishap occurred on Wednesday at about 7:30 pm after a wooden canoe and fibre boat collided on Badagry waterways.
Sources told Vanguard that one of the boats took off from Pathfinder enroute Gberefu shore in Badagry and collided with a fibre boat that left from Iyafin, another riverine community within the axis.
Confirming the tragedy, Managing Director of Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, Ms Abisola Kamson and Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos Command, Dolapo Badmos, said the mishap occurred at night.
Kamson lamented that the passengers should not have been on the waterways at that time, saying: “We have outlawed night movement on our waterways.”
She disclosed that since the ban on night movement, they had often sensitized residents of riverine communities on the need to jettison night movement.
We’re investigating cause of mishap
—LASG
According to him, “preliminary investigation revealed that both canoes ran into each other. Both boats are wooden. And that is not the standard on Lagos waterways. We don’t allow wooden canoes on our waterways. We are still conducting investigation on the number of passengers that boarded the canoe. Also, we are still investigating if they were putting on life jacket when the mishap occurred.”
On her part, Dolapo said: “The two boats capsized after they collided. The two boat operators quickly escaped, but the passengers are yet to be recovered.
“Efforts are on by the police and the local divers to recover the missing passengers even as we have intensified our investigation to unravel the true cause of the mishap. Three persons suspected to be father, mother and son are suspected to be the missing passengers.”
